Description: Next to the recreation area, there is the lively Puntagorda Farmer’s Market that is held every Saturday (from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.) and Sunday (from 9 a .m. to 1 p.m.). The wax myrtle (Myrica faya) is an endemic plant of Macaronesian origin that is usually associated with the humid mountain level in La Palma . This tree, after which the recreation area is named, appears here in an area of pine forest, where tree heath is also common. We could safely say that the proximity of the Puntagorda Market has breathed new life into the installation, which has recovered its popularity among visitors to the north east.
Acces: El Fayal is north of the centre of Puntagorda, but only a couple of hundred metres. If you wish to use public transport , the bus stop is on the edge of the LP-1 ring road, which is also close to the recreation area.
Services: Drinking water, barbecues, benches, toilets, playground and Point Environmental information.
