At the risk of sounding obvious, here are some of the most important:<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Check weather forecasts before setting off to hike.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don\u00b4t go alone.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tell someone your intended destination and expected time of arrival.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Carry a small rucksack with warm clothing, waterproofs, food and plenty of water.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don\u00b4t forget such simple items as: sun hat, protective cream and sun glasses.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Carry a mobile phone with fully-charged battery, a map and, if possible, a compass.
