The first stretch of the path is practically flat and there are plenty of information panels explaining the geological features that we will see along the way (dykes, ancient eruptions, intense erosion and so on). On the right we can see the whole mountainous rim of the La Caldera , from La Punta de Los Roques peak, to the east, to the Roque de Los Muchachos, the highest point (which you will recognise easily by the white silhouettes of the astronomy observatory). The Lomo de las Chozas viewpoint, a rocky spur overlooking La Caldera , offers a better view of the interior of the crater, with the Huanauac ravine to the left and the Rivanceras ravine to the right.In the way back, you can take a turn off ot the left that will take you back to the car park.
