- Description: At an altitude of just over 1,000 metres , Fuente de Los Roques is situated very close to the “ Volcanoes Route ”, the well known trail running along the dorsal ridge of La Cumbre Vieja.
There are countless examples of volcanic activity in the area around this splendid pine forest, like the Caldera de los Arreboles and the neighbouring Montaña del Fuego (crowned by a geodesic vertex at a height of 1,247 metres ). The entire area belongs to the Cumbre Vieja Nature Park, which is the largest of its kind on La Palma at 7,500 hectares.
- Access: We recommend you take a 4×4 and at some times of the year, it is absolutely essential. The forestry track to the recreation area is about 8 kilometres long and it turns off the LP-1 main road about one kilometre from Los Canarios (following the LP-1 towards Villa de Mazo).
